The Ho Chi Mihn Trail

North and South Vietnam were long narrow countries. As a result, the border became real easy to defend because it was so narrow. In order for the North to send supplies to thier troops in the South they needed to create a way to get around the borders. They achieved this by crossing (illegally) into Loas and Cambodia, two neutral nations to the west, then heading south bypassing South Vietnams northern border. These paths through Cambodia and Loas created the perfect cover for people using this path. The path was called the Ho Chi Mihn Trail.Once the US found out about the Ho Chi Mihn Trail they needed a fast easy way to clear the path and see their enemies so, they had a plane fly over the path and spray a substance that killed the trees and bushes, this substance was called Agent Orange.
